A message from the PrincipalI would like to welcome you to the website of Curragh Post Primary School, a Droichead School.
This is a small school that caters very professionally and warmly for the educational needs of the students of this area. Curragh Post Primary School, opened in 1933, serves the community of the Curragh and surrounding areas; more specifically, this school normally caters for students from the following national schools: Suncroft; Ballysax; Brownstown; Cutbush; Athgarvan; Ballyshannon; Kildare; Newbridge and Nurney. We are involved in many sporting and cultural activities that enable our young men and women develop their personality, temperament and character in a holistic way. Through our pastoral care programme, our school completion programme, our home school liaison programme, our breakfast club, our book rental scheme and our guidance programme, as well as our links with N.U.I. Maynooth and I.T. Carlow, we respond comprehensively to the changing demands of students and their families as the boys and girls in our care move from teenage life / adolescence into adulthood. As a school, we welcome and encourage parental and community involvement in our school and we derive great personal and professional fulfilment from the role we play in the lives of the young people whose education is entrusted to us. I hope that this website gives you a flavour and snapshot of our school and the joy and enthusiasm within which we work daily. Ms Nessa Doyle Principal. Ms Sara Gorman Deputy Principal |
