Bonjour étudiants et parents,

J'espère que tous va bien chez vous.

The current situation is not ideal but we must do our best. One of the biggest challenges in terms of language learning is not being able to practice spoken French and not being exposed to the language as much as you would in the classroom. So as our listening and speaking skills do not suffer I am encouraging students to really make a great effort to supplement their learning with the various online resources that are available for students. E.g duolingo, learn french by podcast on the free "Castbox" app. french podcasts and music on spotify. Language learning videos on youtube. Even french tv programs and films on Netflix. All exposure to the language is beneficial. 

Aujourd'hui, nous allons faire une compréhension écrite et aussi pratiquer nos compétences d'écoute.
Alors, Ouvrez vos livres "Panache" à la page quatre-vingts dix-huit. Copy all new vocab from the box marked lexique into your vocab copies. To that list, add the following words/phrases which also appear in the text;
Enseignement: education
la filière: the industry
Les notes: grades (in school)
Un avertissement: A warning
un Pensionnaire: A boarder (in school) or a guest (in a hotel) NOT a pensioner.
Un retraité(e) : a pensioner Lisez le texte et répondez aux questions 1-10 à la page quatre-vingts dix-neuf. Tournez à la page cent et faites exercice "A" (listening comprehension). I have recorded the audio and attached it as a sound file for you. Listen to it three times. If you need to listen to it again, do so with pauses and rewinding where needed. Answer Qs 1-10 while listening. Finally, what would be your homework normally - revisez le futur simple. Know all irregular verbs in le futur simple also. They are very important. Have someone test you on them. e.g. Q. What is the stem for aller in le futur simple? A. Ir Please send all completed work to this email address along with any questions. You can type work in a word document or you can hand-write it and send me a picture (as long as it's clear).
