Good morning all,
Continuing with revision for the upcoming exams we are going to have a quick look at Foundations. As I am sure you are sick of hearing this from me this is one of the most common topics to come up in the exams, especially in Question 1 for the drawing. I have attached some hand written notes and sketches to this email for your revision. Please take note of them for yourselves - up to you if you wish to copy them, summaries them or create a visual study aid. (If you want clarification of anything or have any questions just shoot me an email and I'll help where I can.) Remember we are all different learners so if is okay to use the best method for you.
Key Words you should take note of are - foundations, settlement, bulb of pressure, strip foundation, raft foundation, pile foundation.
Please also have a look at some past Exam Questions.
I would like you also to have a look at your exam papers or the following link
at the practical day exams for practice.
We will only have 2 weeks to prepare, so familiarizing your with the drawings would be a huge help. Sadly I have yet to prefect teaching how to use tools through email but please have a look at the following link on how to mark out and create a mortise and tenon joint. ⚒
Continue with the great work all and stay safe. 👍
