Well done to our third year sttudents on their sponsored cliff walk from Bray to Greystones on October 21st, in aid of Focus Ireland. Total money raised to be announced soon. F1 in Schools competition has once again hit the Curragh Post Primary School, with preparations now underway for the regional finals. The competition involves students designing a car which is then built at IT Carlow.
The venture is a multi-disciplinary project, with a student management team, under the guidance of DCG and Construction Studies teacher Mr Brian O'Driscoll, dealing with all aspects of the design, development and promotion. Those involved hope to participate in a local radio interview as part of this process. The regionals will take place in February and the team, XLR8 Racing, will be battling it out with teams from all over Ireland for a place in the national finals (junior category) next April. Last year, the school's F1 team, Curragh Crusaders, participated in the competition for the first time – the only school in Kildare to do so. It's hoped the team will go on to a bigger and better performance this year. R U Ok Day encourages people to come together and have a genuine conversation, encourages people to share their problems, support one another, listen without judgement and share some kind words. Well done to all who took part.
