This week in Curragh Post Primary School we are hosting 'Mental Health Awareness Week'. This is the second of our scheduled wellbeing themes across the academic year, following from a very successful 'Friendship Week' in September.
Student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do in CPPS and Mental Health Awareness Week is all about having that open conversation about mental health struggles, removing the stigmas and empowering our students to seek help. We hope to arm them with the tools and strategies they need or may need in the future for coping with mental health problems and to build up their resilience with such matters. Ahead of World Mental Health Day on Saturday 10th October we have a whole program of events across the week - some of the things lined up include: daily mental wellness challenges, hot chocolate treats, funky feet Friday, making coping strategies wheel, discussing stigma around mental health, looking at stats and facts, using music as a coping mechanism, an online talk with Niall Breslin co-founder of mental health charity A Lust for Life and much more!! We have a cross curricular program ready and waiting for your wonderful students. https://youtu.be/33F_i4OJFSo |
