Parents,
Mr Aidan McColgan has prepared a short Youtube video to help you to support your child in using technology in their school work. This video can be found at https://youtu.be/deE2GmGPBmI This video provides information on the following: - Studyclix - Using Office 365 - Uploading work onto Teams The 1st of December brings with it the beginning of our next wellbeing theme - 'Kindness'. During this month, the focus is on encouraging our school community to be kind to each other and themselves. It has been a turbulent year for us all, with highs and lows and so it has never been more important to spread some Christmas cheer whilst being kind.
There are many activities to look forward to. We will decorate some Christmas baubles for The Curragh Family resource Centre. On December 11th we join schools across the country in wearing our Christmas jumpers in aid of Crumlins Children's Hospital. We have signed up to take part in a Reindeer Challenge in conjunction with Kildare Sports Partnership whereby people (students and staff) have committed to walking a minimum of 1km everyday up until December 23rd. Our combined total will be entered into a competition to be named Kildare Sports Patnership's Active Schools 2020. With kindness in mind, students will be encouraged daily to engage with a random act of kindness. These acts will be displayed during tutorial each morning and on the wellbeing board. Our kindness will be extended out into our local community also. We are asking those who can, to bring in some non-perishable food items and some hygiene products. Items collected will be donated to a local charity before school holidays. We did this last year and it proved very successful so we hope to achieve similar results this year. To give back to our own school community there will be a 'Hampers for Christmas' raffle. Each family will be entered into a raffle with a chance of winning a Christmas hamper full of surprises. Classrooms around the school are being decorated with lights and tinsel galore, with the sound of Christmas carols drifting along the corridors. We hope all our students and their families enjoy these next few weeks of school ahead of the Christmas holidays |
